Ford Mondeo Self Levelling suspension

Hello all,

I am new to this forum and have a question. I own a 2007 (mark III) Mondeo ST TDCi estate which apparently has self levelling suspension. This I was unaware of until I tried on Saturday to get a replacement shock for the offside rear. I need this as the one on there is leaking and the MOT is due in a month.

What I would like to know please is whether I can replace the self levelling suspension with standard shocks and whether anyone has done this themselves and what issues there may be?

You help will be appreciated.
