Hello

Following on from this thread here it is now decision time for the retrim. I have already had the car re carpeted in black, so just need to decide wether to go red alcantara/leather or black and silver alcantara/leather.

The car is a spectraflair silver T350, This is how the car looked before carpets were done

The inspiration for the red leather is coming from the Jaguar CX-16 concept which i thought looked stunning, would be trimming the TVR in a very similar theme as this

OR

do i play it safer with this combination

Sorry don't have the privilege to do a poll as that would have been the easiest.

The red is nice but random for your paint work.
Do you mean for spectraflair silver tvrs? or silver cars in general? i thought silver exterior and red leather went together a lot. Seen quite a few SLS silver with the red leather interior and thought they look good.

Hi Euan, I think red/black goes very well with Silver - adds a bit of oooomph to the overall effect of the car. Bright Red would be too much, but a proper, classy deep red like this would work very well and differentiate it from many other Spectraflair Silver Tivs...

Hope that helps biggrin
Very good point if I am spending the money to do this it would be a good idea to make the car unique. So copying the black and silver interior is probably not the best idea. So may be some red rather than
ALL red.

Everybody appears to love the interior of this Sag http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3580887.htm

I actually bought a set from eBay and got the guys who were doing the audio to fit them. Got quotes from d and c trim for doing them which were very reasonable. Where are you based?

Ayr, been quoted £600 to £1000 so far. Not tried DC yet was looking for somewhere a bit closer
Gosh that sounds awfully expensive for a chim re carpet, going to be using a company just outside Glasgow for the retrim, prices are very reasonable and quality is excellent (apparently) let me know if you want there details

Still not made my mind up on this one and struggling to find a company in central scotland that is willing and able to do the job, and that i trust.

Any way in the mean time stumbled across pictures of str8six sagaris interior which looks great. However not sure if it would go with a silver exterior?

Thanks red and black is still a favourite. After reading another thread that i think you posted on I gave craig at track v road a call to ask about the trimmer they use.

Well dropped the car off with the re-trimmer today. Going for a red and black theme with black stitching. I know it won't be to everyone's taste but should be fairly striking and unique once finished.

So nervous to see how it turns out. Either going to be stunning (IMHO) or completely awful. I'm actually glad I'm away next week to stop me thinking that I might have made a mistake.

well just back from holiday and went down to see how things were going. Now its not going to be to everyone taste but one thing for sure the standard of workmanship and attention to detail is amazing

Lots and lots of other bits were lying about all trimmed and the black alcantara headling was all fitted to the car, cant wait to see it all back complete.

This is the last thing that I have wanted to do to the car so hopefully get out and use it some more. Going up to knock hill in the17th which should be interesting.

Agreed, I may have dubious taste in car interiors but was blown away by the level of workmanship and attention to detail they have done. Stupid little things like on the back of the seat where it meets the black shell of the seats they put black leather in 10mm all round so that it blends in seamlessly.

I only asked them (at the last minute) to change the headlining from blue cloth to black, instead they have put a lovely black alcantara type material in.

Sorry maybe should have put a smiley face after my comment about taste. i just think that it will divide opinion when its complete, and am not even sure myself if it will work eek

it's just I am not very good at seeing the individual parts and imagining them as a whole. I need to see the finished article to be able to judge if I like it or not.
That is exactly the problem i was and am having. Initially was going to keep black accent pieces in the seats and door cards and then at the last minute decided to do them all in red leather, and its the little details like that that will make or break it. I too find it very difficult to visualise it when its in pieces.

Today's update. Popped down to drop off a few things, and took a couple of photos.

Spoke to them about seat runner and they are going to trim it instead of painting it which will look much nicer.

They are working on the door cards today which are going to be half quilted can't wait to see them.
