I have had the Griff for a few years now and have lived with what is described as a Lazy gauge. It works but goes up to about 30 and then stays there irrespective of what the engine is doing. No big issue but it would actually be good to se what is going on so I guess the alternatives are to replace the gauge or get the current one fixed. I note that there is a label on the side of the gauge which says Caerbont Automotive which are based in S Wales so maybe it would be worth calling them and seeing if they do repairs and then take it from there. As the gauge does work I wonder if there is a simple fix which I could do assuming I could get into the gauge so any advice re that or other places which might repair it for a sensible price would be appreciated.

Thanks Ian - it is the gauge and not the sender. We tried a replacementt sender unit a while ago and have also put in another gauge that works fine but the face colour is different so it doesn't look right - OK for now but I do need to replace/repair it.

Thanks for the heads up re Speedy Cables. I have looked at sone old posts re gauge refurbishment and see that the Gauge Shop had some good reviews so I have emailled them to see how much they would charge for repair and turn round time, so any recent experience with them would be useful.

I contacted Caerbont and got a good and quite speedy reply. Result that a new gauge was the answer with a sensible price being quoted and delivery in a couple of weeks or so so hopefully all sorted.
(If anyone wants details in terms of the part number and price then email me).

No, the part number has all the info in it incl the TVR logo (solid I think from what they said) and the colour of the face. The new one comes with the rubber ring that goes between it and the dash as well.

Just a quick update - the new gauge arrived a couple of weeks ago and has been fitted. Excellent and with the TVR logo at the bottom as well.
