Group Buy - Curved Pedals for T cars
Discussion
Afternoon All,
I have been chatting with one of our engineering / smiths members and they feewl that they can produce the curved pedals (brake and clutch) for the T-Car pedal boxes. These are supposedly more comfortable to use than the straight pedals but, of course, this is a personal preference.
I'm after two pairs so am happy to pay for some 'pre-production' items and post up how they look / fit etc..... They will be the same finish as existing pedals.
Cost wise we are [for now] looking at £180 a pair plus postage. Price may fall depending upon interest.
So, for now can we start a list on those that are interested. Please note the price, and add your name if you are serious about having a set. Firm commitment will be sort after the 'pre-production' ones are fitted and you are happy with them. Deposit will be required at that point - assume 50%.
Thank you.

I had already thought of that. That would require people sending their throttle pedals in for modding to get a matching set or paying for a third pedal.
At the moment, getting a set of base pedals is the priority. Customisation of these may or may not be possible or incur additional cost.

Pretty easy to do Tony.
Firstly click on 'quote' of the post you wish to amend.
This will come up in between '[ quote=screenname ]' and '[ /quote ]' but without the spaces between the brackets and the text.

mk1fan || two ||
Macey || one ||
TimLux || one ||
Tonymg || 3 ||
Richard Marson || 1 ||
fergus3060 || 1 ||
Basil Brush || 1 ||
DAKOTAstorm || 1 ||
Green Fly || 1 ||
Delete the square brackets and the text in them ( '[ quote=screen name ]' and '[ /quote ]' )
Then amend the text you want to - in this case the 3 inbetween the || and the || after your screen name.
The || are vertical lines which - on my qwerty keyboard - are printed by pressing 'shift' and the '\' key.
To add another line you just add two vertical lines, space, screen name, space, two vertical lines, space, the number, space then close it with two more vertical lines.
You can add colums to the table by just repeating the sections enclosed by two vertical lines.
The column headings are marked with an = sign either side of the text in lieu of a space for the following lines. I have omitted the first set of || on each line of the table so that it doesn't format a table in this post.

I’ve got curved pedals on my Sag, it’ll be on the timeline at Burghley, you’re welcome to have a look.
I don’t know if I’m allowed to post this bit but I also have 3 original curved pedals spare which I’ll take to Burghley.
Paul
Is that a set of genuine three A, B and C? Does the A have vertical ribs or horizontal? Are they TVR or copies? Some pics would be useful if you could PM me. Indeed they would be very useful as 'bucks' if you're happy to loan or sell them to me. Not going to Burghley but happy to pay postages.I don’t know if I’m allowed to post this bit but I also have 3 original curved pedals spare which I’ll take to Burghley.

Update time.
Right Leigh has done some 3D modelling on the design for a milled pedal from a cast block of ali.
We have discussed things and a few changes have been made. Namely a thicker overall pedal and no strengthening ribs on the rear. There is one mounting point on the rear - as per the original curved ones. I'll ask him to post a link to the 3D model so people can look.
Leigh doesn't have the machine to 'cut out' TVR into the pedals.
Doing a throttle pedal is doable - note at the moment we are talking about the brake and clutch pedal. The factory straight pedal had vertical groves and I note that the photos loaded of curved pedals show the throttle pedal has no grooves. I'll discuss with Leigh separately about doing a smooth pedal with a small recess so that people can add 'fibre-grip' if they wish.
What we are looking for now are deposits from people to get the materials and make the sets up.
Can people on the above list please reply here as to whether they are happy to pay a £30 deposit per pair - so £60 if you want two pairs.
Please don't reply asking for a link to the 3D model. I'll message Leigh and ask him to post it.
As some background, Leigh is very well known for his machined ali parts for the RV8 - he's just done a run of cupholders for the Grief and Chimp owners. He also does instrument bezell kits for other TBR models - Wedge S etc.....
