Brand new to the forum and i'm a future TVR owner after years of nagging the MRS. So i can start with 10K. So what do i get? i'm a fairly adept DIYer but only a small garage so body off may be beyond my resources.I like the S but not so much the wedge and i think the Chimeara is out of budget (well a descent one it seems). I like the idea of doing an engine swap in the future so not too concerned about milage just scared by some of the stories i hear about the chassis. Maybe a 2.9 S with the thought of swapping with a V8 in the future. The S to me looks classic are they an appreciating asset?

is it this one http://r.ebay.com/TBxLzi ? a "C" version with catalytic converter. does that effect performance or sound? can it be removed or again is that off spec and would that effect the future purity of the car?

thanks Byker 28i and Twinkam. well i've always wanted a TVR and now i've collected some cash over these years and my wife is more or less happy with improvements to the family home so now i can have a toy.smile. i just don't have more and I won't borrow any but ontop of that initial budget I probably intend to spend about 2k a year on it. Maybe a mint S1 or S2 is the way to go with a rebuild or replace/modernise engine.

There's more S models available for your budget. Is the £10k the whole budget or just for the car?

I would recommend you have some money aside for maintenance / jobs that crope up.
just for the working car. i'm budgeting for a 2k a year maintenance/improvement spend
