OK. It's been some years but it's time to get the griff back on the road. I live a few miles south of Cambridge and appreciate any recommendations for indies in the vicinity. Any recommendations?

This 100 times over. I live in St Neots and am happy to travel 60 miles each way to him, he's the only person who's ever serviced my car and I've used him for almost 15 years now.

Thanks all. I'll look into them both although 50miles each way is a bit of a trek... Included in a day out to the Norfolk Suffolk coast might take the sting out of it...

Any comments on Great Paxton (formally offords) and python Racing in Colchester to satisfy my curiosity.....?

Thanks again.

Offords - I live 5 mile away and don't go there so read into that what you will.
No idea about Python (never heard of them till now)

Thanks zippee

Looks like a trip to the coast is on the cards then or Thetford for some cycling.

Kerridges also looked after my Griffith, no complaints, a couple of good lads in the workshop. Over the years I have noticed on the forums that Matt Smith has been well praised and goes that extra mile, I think he would be my choice now.

Mat’s my chosen TVR expert, even though I live 70 miles away. He has a free loan car - just mention that you need it when booking.
No disrespect to Kerridges, I simply don’t know them, but with Mat you get Mat and James on every job, their eye to detail, their TVR knowledge, applied to your car. They spot the stuff that regular mechanics miss.
Is your car driveable, or will you need it to be collected?

Python Racing have a reputation for quick turnaround on electronics repairs. So if your heater control box breaks, there’s nowhere better for a quick fix. But I have heard nothing regarding their servicing skills.

I bought my Chim 500 new from Kerridges in 2002. It’s been serviced and looked after by then ever since. I rather like the fact that the mechanic who did the pdi now does the annual service and mot.

Never had a problem with Kerridges.

As many others, Mat Smith for me. He was the original mechanic that serviced my Chim from new from Brundles, and he's looking after it again now.

Hi all. Thought I'd update you all.

Booked into Matt Smith Sports Cars in Downham Market last week. Dropped the car in, had a long chat with Matt about the car, service etc etc and left it there to pick up a few days later. (12k service plus general check)

Without going all gushy gushy dealing with him was an absolute pleasure. Great combination of easy going manner, very knowledgeable in the field and professional throughout. Can't fault him in any way. Where will the car be going for the next service and any work that needs doing ? Back to Matt of course.

Sure it was a bit of a drive from where I live near Saffron Walden and the roads are definitely getting worse near Ely but I've now got a new go to garage for the griff.

Cheers all for your recommendations and many thanks of course to Matt.

PS I didn't get paid to write this !
