Guess My 21 Year Old S/1998 Chimaera Total Spend From New ??

Well after several late nights carefully filling and ordering chronologically the extensive 21 year history on my S/1998 Chimaera it is all done! I have scanned in all bills/invoices and have every MOT from its first @ 3 years old.
Have a guess how much has been spent that I know about and have bills/invoices for??? I think many will be surprised.

Gees. So could be £30k through to £45k then! Over how long is that? From new?
Maybe I was expecting a little less as it is a fairly basic/simple car. The only upgrade or difference from this was the Speed 6 headlight conversion.
I suspect there are a few odd bills that I might not have but seem to have most. It is pretty extensive and comprehensive. All 112 pages in a nice physical binder and also as a PDF now

Agreed. Just about to take it to Bespoke tomorrow for another annual service. I guess at £1k per year with zero depreciation now it is great value for money for such enjoyment.
It has had new clutch, new roof, new outriggers, new wishbones and other stuff all in the last 3k miles. So the previous owner to me bore the brunt of a fair few bigger costs in their ownership luckily.

I sort of agree with many peoples view in that the actual condition says more than a book of stamps but most Tvr centres tell you when something needs doing so most cars with at least recent Tvr service history will or should be good solid cars.
Your car Dean sounds like one of the many many good ones, there are a lot just not forsale I reckon.

Your are right that current condition is much more important than what condition it was in 10 years ago. It is nice to have the fully documented history from new though and have a car in good condition....win win.
There are a ton of cars for sale and lots of options for me at the moment. I have never seen so many good options before. Is making my decision making very difficult as there are so many, many good ones and all so different in colour combo, spec, condition, price.
When you break it down to £20 a week it seems like a bit of a bargain really. I don't smoke and never have but that is two packets of cigarette's a week!

After 34 miles it was taken to car hospital where, 3 months later it returned with an engine rebuild and various other bits and bobs.
It was also accompanied with its first bill.
£11k :-(
By May 2009 I had spent a further £13k and then wrote it off.
Quite an expensive 2 1/2 years.
But it was awesome while it lived. :-)
Ouch....sorry to hear that. Now when they say some things are not meant to be I am not sure that Tuscan wanted a long term relationship with you for one reason or another.
