From the attached photo it would appear I'm missing a part from between the ignition barrel trim and the column shroud.on the Griff'.

Probably from a Cavalier, anybody got one they wish to part with or is it a go search the breakers yard when they open again.

I've searched the web but not sure what to call it.

HaHa,

I've only had the car 12 months and still finding things missing or jobs want doing.

I could feel there was something not there but thought it was the barrel trim until I took a photo.

Mike,
My phone call to you the other day, which went to voicemail, was to ask if you had one,

They are called ignition barrel surround trims. Did TVR fit them though? scratchchin
Iain,
I assumed they did, I'll better check.

Cheers

The push in screw covers are both there,

I had the cowl off recently when I had the facia out dunno why I didn't notice the large rubber washer was missing.

There should be a gasket then, I'll keep searching now I know what it looks like and when the breakers are open pay them a visit. The same cowl was fitted to the Opel Senator I understand.
And I bet there was one in the box of bits still to be fitted to the unfinished Chim' I sold.

Might be worth contacting some Cavalier/Senator peeps on PH.

Cheers everyone, stay safe.

Missing on mine too. Let us know if they have supplies and I’ll get one too.

The other bit I’m missing is the black plastic cowling from the seat reclining mechanism, what Vauxhall’s is that form?
Mike,
There are a number of outlets that can supply the seat adjusted covers, from NOS (Mega Bucks) to GRP Repro's, (A PHer) and latest I've seen is from Amore, I think 3D printed.
I even got a quote from an Injection molding company but didn't follow it up.
I have one and a broken one I borrowed from the sold Chim' until I found some for the Griff'. Nothing done yet though.

In one of those photos of missing neoprene part and perhaps both photos it looks like the neoprene part is there, it may have been pushed into the cowl along the lock barrel
Why didn't I listen to you Bob?

I got a new escutcheon from ebay (cheapest) and because i needed to take the cowl off to see why the barrel was not in the centre of the opening in the cowl, guess what I found, yep another one.

The problem with the lower cowl sitting too low was a wire terminal between the plastic fixing boss and the steering swivel, don't know where the wire went to so I reattached it out of the way.

BTW the most expensive escutcheon I found was £10.00 +Vat+P&Psmash

Another job sorted.

Trawling the messages I found what I think was the purpose of this black wire from an old message from Aussie John

Aussie John said:
Found the horn faulty again, this time found that the earth does not go through the column to the rack, late models seem to have an earth wire off the top section of the tilt mechanism so I put one in and problem seems to have been solved, thanks for all the help,
Only on my car it had been attached to the underside of the tilt mech' maybe to solve a intermittent honker sometime in its past.

Only updated as it may help owners with horn issues. redcard
