Hi All
I have a 01 Tuscan and only do around 3k miles a year, i have been getting the car serviced yearly and MOT'd through a tvr specialist

Just wondering what everyone else does regarding servicing, does everyone get the car serviced every year regardless of previous years mileage?
Do you use a specialist TVR garage for this or local garage or do it yourself?

Do you get the car MOT'd locally or through a TVR specialist?

Be interested to know peoples thoughts.

I have my Cerbera serviced annually at Str8Six, and MOT’d at the same time.

Because of the low mileage covered, they tend to advise on what’s needed. For example, I don’t get the tappets adjusted every second service anymore, like I did when it was my daily driver.

That said, it’s a bit of a jaunt for me, so with the current lockdown rules, I’ve currently got a SORN on it.

Like you, I get mine serviced yearly and MOT'd at the same time, by a top tvr specialist.

In my experience this saves a lot of £'s in the long term.

I service it myself annually. Normally a fluid & filter change and a good look over it.

It has its MOT at the local garage in the village. Been going there for years and always wait with it, if for no other reason they prefer me in it so they don't have to work out which switches do what.

Don't do many miles in mine, but have it serviced every year by DG sportscars (David Gerald Tvr), and they offer a low mileage varient, oil change and checkover, so I go 6k,, next year a low miles, next a 12k, next a low miles ..... and so forth.

Mot a local place does it, but I may get DG to do that too.

I also do my own servicing on an annual basis and then MOT at a local garage, but the daily driver goes to the main dealer, who are very good, to protect the warranty.

A large part of the decision depends on you ability with the spanner’s and risk approach. It’s safer to have it serviced annually by a specialist.

I think most specialists will offer some form of low mileage service, but don’t be tempted to skimp on the big jobs though. Mine also gets serviced and MOT’d at the same time.

I only do about 3000 miles a year but always get an annual service from a TVR specialist. It should be remembered that these cars are getting on a bit, (like the owner in my case) mines 19 years old and things like rubber fuel lines and suchlike can deteriorate with time and it is wise to get them checked out.

Thanks for all the feed back, TVR specialist it is! However if i had the time and better facilities may i'd do a little more myself.
