I’m new to Tuscan ownership, having recently bought a 2007 registered wavey dash Targa. Totally in love with it and is the ‘go to car’ over the 720S. The Mac is sat there looking a little neglected at the mo.

My question: Considering the late Tuscans shared a lot of the Sagaris components and engine, why does the Sag command such a price premium over the Tuscan? They had a similar list price and the Tuscan is arguably more practical with its large boot and removable lid.

Better handling, hardtop and looks.
Handling maybe, but I picked the Tuscan over the Sagaris because of the looks and targa top. I suppose that’s the subjective part of choosing. I think the Sagaris is pig ugly

I guess I was curious as to what are the technical benefits for the large premium.

Tuscan rear screen departs at about 50mph with roof off. A number of times I found my self searching ditches for my rear window.
Going by the A1 condition of the rear screen in the car I’ve just bought, I don’t think it’s ever been out of the bag.

redcard Apologies but am I reading this right? You have a 720S and prefer the TVR Tuscan? Must be a dirty mistress flirtation me thinks scratchchin I've had four TVR's, two Griffith 500's, a new T350 which was a great handling car and the last was a 573hp Chimaera that tore your head off at 100 mph, and so regard myself as a life long TVR fan. (I'm not out to make enemies here) Now after selling my soul and pretty much everything, I have a 12c McLaren and for me there is no comparison and forgive me but they do not belong in the same sentence hippy
I’ve done over 20K miles in the 720S. Don’t get me wrong, it’s probably one of the best supercars on the planet at the moment, BUT, it’s too good. To get the same st-your-pants excitement as I do in the Tuscan, you need to be in go-to-jail speed territory in the 720S. I went out this afternoon for a drive around Lincolnshire and took the Tuscan. The 720S is surgical / clinical. If I had to lose one of them, it would be the 720S.

Go to vehicle sounds like it’s a tad more practical for the local shops Mac. Do you count the cost of running the Mac in engine time running rather than miles covered as servicing must be interesting cost wise although you don’t own such a beauty and worry about that thumbup
720S is practical with decent sized frunk and rear parcel shelf. Servicing is every 10k miles or once per year, whichever the soonest. Servicing is £1.2K. 18MPG on average, but have seen single figures on a proper hoon.

Officially T350 and Tamora production finished in 2005 .. I think the 1s were special requests.

Wow. Assuming all Tuscan MKII Targa’s manufactured in 2006 were of the ‘wavey dash / MKIII’ variety, no more than 23 were made. Would that be a correct assumption?

Yes, that's correct. TVR actually refused to put a Baboons Bum dash in a friends of my car ordered at the same time as me .
I’d better keep mine in good fettle. It’s a bit a rarity.
