My Griff 500 is about due for the dreaded 24k service. It has a full Team Central service history, but I am tempted by TVR Power in Coventry who are a bit cheaper and as 'part of the factory' might be expected to do a better job. Question is, is TVR Power really any better or are Team Central, and a continous history, worth that bit more? I would be delighted to hear from anyone who has experience of either. Thanks for any replies.

Hmmm, not looking good for Team Central based on the comments here. I'll probably try TVR Power. I hope they know about other bits besides engines though!

TVR Power just did my 24k Griff 500 service too. As it was my first experience of TVR servicing I can't say how they compare to anyone else, but they seemed pretty good. No courtesy car, though I understand they are getting one in soon. They put the Rover engines together in the first place so ought to know them better than anyone else. I got the impression that they care about what they're doing (not the case with most places I've known). Interestingly, the chap I spoke to mentioned that he would have run the car on a good mineral oil rather than Mobil 1. Apparently Mobil 1 is so good that there is almost zero metal-metal contact when its used, so the engine doesn't get run in properly. 6000 miles is not enough to get it run in properly either. Any views on this? Also, they spotted a rather serious problem with the suspension that wasn't picked up by the franchised TVR dealer who sold me the beast not long ago. Warranty luckily covers it and its back in soon to get it sorted. Verdict on TVR Power? Good. Steve, is your Griff a brownish one?
