I want to cut a slot for a new boot light but don't want to make a pigs ear of it. Best TPI on a saw blade and how do you avoid/repair frayed edges. Looking at a long flourescant 12 volt. But if the start up is too much will go for bulbs, either way holes are needed.

If I can find it, thinking of 4-6" by 1" tube (arn't we all ) if electrics won't allow then a normal interior light size. No grinder or dremel so blade I think. Are dremels that good? Thanks for the tip on a mask. Gel coat? not down halfords is it?
Cheers
