I have dipped my toe back into the Classic market, by purchasing the Mimosa Yellow TR6 (private sale) off the PH adverts. Its a stunning motor car and one I lusted after in my early teens. Picking it up on Saturday so hoping it stays dry.

Mine will require strengthening all over the shop. I’ve just built a 2.6 lightened and balanced lump with jenvey ITB’s

Instead of going the full Resto route I bought a Cali car with absolutely zero rot, much cheaper way of doing it. Still has original paint all over.

Did you finish the car, if so what’s it running like. Love to hear an update

Sorry to hear that. Any recourse on the supplier, or have they refused to acknowledge they were at fault

There were a few spots on the bonnet that let it down so I had it stripped and guess what we found

No idea it was anything like that till we stripped it. My mate doing the job lead loaded it and then refinished it old style

Then this weekend put a bit of bling in the engine bay. Yellow HT leads

The bonnet was original to the car and fit was excellent, but when it was finished 5 years ago the rot got missed as it was behind the strengthening struts on the inside, now totally satisfied it’s got no more.

Finally got round to getting the pump issues sorted once and for all. Took it to Carl Fitchett who has taken over Malcolm at Prestige. He as swapped out the existing noisy Bosch pump for his modified one rewired direct from the battery with inline fuse. He then fitted his set pressure PRV with diaphragm and hose. The pump is now quite and working fantastic.

Before the pump was done I fitted a complete new tank so as not have any more problems with particles getting into the injectors and also the known problem’s with running down to quarter of a tank are eliminated. All in all, well happy.

What's the PRV mounted onto?
Where the brass bolt is, just under there to the right is a original mounting bracket.

The guy who owns it is called Terry. They are based in Hednesford Staffordshire. They do sell through a guy on the TR Register and the TR Shop in London, but ring him and will sort you out
