Brake discs and pads
Discussion
What are peoples opinion on the below discs and pads and what order would you place them.
I'm looking at this for options on general cars not performance as I know there are better options for performance.
EBC
Brembo
National Auto parts
Ferodo
Mintex
Pagid

Pretty much all of them apart from EBC and NAP would claim they are OEM equivalents. And most names mentioned would generally be good.
Apec would not be in that same group, likewise National Auto Parts, but cheap and usually low quality, especially the pads. Some Apec pads fit terribly.

I'd steer clear of APEC. NAP, as far as I know, is just a distributor, so their own-brand products will very likely be bought in from a number of suppliers, making it something of a lottery as to what you get. I'm not sure whether or not Brembo manufactures pads - they may be bought in from one or more of the major manufacturers.
Of the others, buy their standard pads, conforming to ECE R90, & you won't really notice any great differences.
Phrases like "OE quality" are fairly meaningless; aftermarket parts may even be made to better quality standards & perform better than OE.

i bought a set of pagid discs and pads from ECP. the new set up felt terrible but then it might come down to the individual car......
i think it was disc material tbh. they had very poor feel to the pedal. i changed back my old pads first as a tester and they felt the same (poor) so bought some eicher discs using the new pagid pads and it was a major improvement. you wouldnt expect it but i think there is no much variation these days in pad and disc material quality in the aftermarket market ......
