Mk4 Mondeo Suspension Refresh
Discussion
My Mk4 Mondeo Edge Estate has 108K miles on it.
The suspension has been very good and isn't bouncy even at this mileage, but I'd like to give it a bit of a refresh, possibly increase the rebound damping a little (which seemed a little lacking, even when fairly new) and stiffen up the ARB with PU bushings.
I'd like to retain the ride height and not affect the good ride quality too much.
New dampers would be the obvious thing.
BILSTEIN B4 seem a popular choice, but I'd be interested in what others might be like. KYB?
I'd get a 4 wheel alignment done afterwards.
Any other suggestions?

I put bilstein B4s on my 5 series and took them off within 10,000 miles, I’m sure they would’ve lasted forever but the car didn’t ride nicely on them. I put Koni sports on which on their softest setting ride much better than the B4s did.
I’ve always found the Ford’s I’ve been in quite nice so you could go OEM?

B12 kit comprises B8 shocks and eibach springs, didn't drop it too much ride was spot on not noticeably firmer than standard but handled superbly. although mine was on 18s and always ran uniroyal rainsport3s
there was a pretty good thread on here about my Mondeo till someone shopped me to the council for some err un taxi like modifications

Interesting, thanks. Did you do anything with the ARB?there was a pretty good thread on here about my Mondeo till someone shopped me to the council for some err un taxi like modifications
Did you fit the kit yourself?
-I replaced the rear springs and dampers on my mk3. Corroded nuts and bolts was an issue.
I do like the ride height and suspension travel of the standard setup.
Mine runs on RainSport 3's too.
Your thread sounds good. Did you save it beofre removing it?
