Alloy wheels and offset - HELP

Hi All,

Looking at a new set of alloys and the following is the standard wheels:

PCD 5x114
Centre bore 60
Offset 50

Now what would happen if I get an offset of of say 30.

Also is ET the same as offset?

Help much appreciated.
