Audi A3, 2012 diesel

As per the title, I had a caliper seize on me 2 weeks ago. Yesterday the rear caliper seized and on replacing this, the mechanic told me the other rear one was also looking iffy and needed to be freed up a bit. Said it needed replacing soon.
On the journey home, the front passenger side has completely seized...

Ive been told its common on this car, and perhaps this cold weather and extra salt on the roads has contributed? But could there be anything underlying causing this or am I just unlucky?

Makes me feel better. As I've been told from a few, these are common weak areas so I guess these cold, salty roads have been too much for them.

Appreciate the reply. Was just concerned there may be something else lurking that could have caused it.
