hi,

fitted a set of the new carbon lorraine rc5+ plus pads to my clio 172 on the weekend, along with new discs. all went smoothly and brakes seem epic but, the pads move in the carriers. clio 172 has a single piston caliper with carriers. the pads came with no shims, supplier has said they didnt need them as they are based on a race spec pad, but they rattle in the carriers when cold and driving along.

is this normal? can i take the shims off the back of my old pads and attempt to use these? pad moves up and down in the carrier though as opposed to side to side so i'm assuming the shims wont do much.

has anyone else used these and what were yours like?

alright fella chill, i knew exactly what they were when i bought them and i have no issues with the squeeks or extra dust, the fact the pull my face off when i brake. my car is hardly the pinpoint of optimum comfort and luxury. i drive it hard and i bought these pads for the performance and nothing else. they are not a full race pad, they are a fast road pad.

i just wondered whether shims were suppose to be used or not. thats all.

thanks though. x
