extended arches general help
Discussion
I have a car which I am going to have fully stripped and resprayed (among many other things which I will not bore you with here because it is not relevant here).
I am potentially looking at making the arches wider, I have found some fiberglass arches for the car which are design to be riveted in place.
Problem is I do not want to have the riveted arch look (it just would not fit with the style of the car).
So I thought that possibly the guy who I hire to sort out the bodywork could smooth over the arches and blend them into the body with filler before it gets sprayed.
my questions are;
1. Has anyone else done this with good results?
2. If I go down this route am I at risk of the paint around the arch cracking when the arch flexes?
3. Is there something I could do to the underside of the extended arch to strengthen it to reduce the chance of it flexing?
Thanks in advance
