Rust on rear wing near arch - BMW e92 2011
Discussion
Hi,
Noticed this spot of paint bubbling/coming off and start of some rust today
Pretty certain the car has been resprayed at some point in it's life on this side which has caused this rather than rotting from the inside outwards. Other side is fine as you'd expect for its age.
I am going to take it to a bodyshop (if anyone can recommend one near to York or Leeds area), but just wondering what my options are?
I would like to keep the car for a couple more years rather than do a quick repair and sell it on.
I had been planning to get a detailer to give it a full machine polish but the paint on this side is quite soft due to a previous repair. So this could be an opportunity to kill two birds with one stone, get this repaired, and in the process fix the not-so-good previous respray?
Should I slap on some touch up paint for now, it will look like dogsh*t but should prevent any further damage?
I've heard WD40 is better than nothing in this, although the rust still gets oxygen.
Thanks

I could try and wash it off before with some washing up liquid and water or muc-off, presumably they will also degrease/clean it thoroughly properly. I thought it was the lesser of two evils to stop any more corrosion.
I've done a great job of spraying it right in the gap using the tube so is probably all over the inside of it and the bumper (although that isn't being painted) It's the wd40 3-in-1.
I will mention my error to them before to watch out for it.
