Car rock chip rust protection until i get home

Hi i need some help with a rock chip on my bonnet and need a way to stop it from rusting until i get home to my garage.
im currently on holiday for the rest of the week in isle of wight. The place i an staying is near the beach so the salt content in the air is very high so it will rust quicker.
tge chip is down to bare metal and has been like this for 1-3 days.
i wanted to know if there was any methods or any thing i can use to prevent rust till i get home.
i need to know now as i have onky just bought the car and dont want more work later on.

What do you mean by wax as in burning a candle and dripping on the chip or another kind of wax.

And i also assume ill be able to wipe it of with a bit of ipa right?
