After reading a previous thread on PH and the article in Evo magazine about Permagard, I had it done and I was amazed by the results. First, they cleaned the car with a crystal solution to get rid of the grime, oxidisation, grease, etc and get it back to its original colour. Then, they applied the Permagard which forms a plastic polymer coating and is more durable and protective than wax, silicon or teflon products.

After it was done, the first thing I noticed was the car has a really glossy shine; you can really see the metallic of the paint and its silky smooth to touch. They even did the alloys and exhaust tips which now also shine like new. The Permagard forms a protective barrier against dirt, UV, acid rain, etc and means that I don’t need to wash or wax the car – just rinse with water and its gleaming again. Likewise, brake dust just rinses off the alloys. They also treated the windscreen so you hardly need to use the wipers when driving in the rain. I dealt with Mike Perry who is extremely helpful and has amazing attention to detail. His contact details are on: www.permagard.info

Hi Philip, You get a 1yr guarentee and if you wish you can extend it annually by doing a top-up treatment which I beleive is half the price of a full treatment. Costs vary according to what you have done. I had a couple more things done so spent nearer £200 but if it does what it says then still great value in my opinion. Of course, I cant vouch for how long it lasts as I've only had it a couple of weeks but time will tell...

Do you have any proof?

No not really. I spoke to someone who said that this was the case.

I think you'll find that there are a few people that have a vested interest in spreading negative rumours about Permagard such as people that make a living from selling traditional wax products. I think comments like the one made by ferrari355gtb above are pointless unless they are substantiated. rogerb's comment about John Baker says it all.

PS: rogerb - does this mean anything to you "Money is like an arm or a leg, use it or lose it"

On the other hand I have no vested interest in Permagard - just a satisfied customer. When the internal combustion engine was invented, I'm sure there were some Horse & Cart salesmen that said there is nothing super special about these products...

it is just a sealant/shampoo and polish packaged in small bottles and re-sold. I have tested it personally...

Are sure you are talking about Permagard? - it is not available as a DIY application. Its not one of these teflon/silicon sealants in a bottle. Its a new product which is a plastic polymer and needs to be professionally applied. Once done, the car does not need washing or waxing - just a hose down with water and its shining again. You only need to get it reapplied once a year if you want to extend the warranty. Of course, I've only had it a few weeks so I'm more than happy to admit I'm wrong further down the line if I am but at the moment, it does exactly what is claimed on their website.

Is there any chance of larger pictures than the ones that are posted? As the finish is very difficult to evaluate being that size.

I find it hard to believe your car had oxidisation after only a year

I didnt say that - i think you need to read the thread
more carefully - perhaps more attention to detail is needed.... ...not something i'd have expected of a detailer

Like i said before, i dont have a vested interest - you do. You should leave us customers to do the talking. If in the future i find that i was wrong i'll admit it but at the moment i'm very happy.

You may not have said that BUT your detailer did.

Not to my knowledge. Give me the name of who said it, where and when? Its very hard for me to trust you without proof.

The point is my car can't have oxidised "after only a year" as you said because the car is 4 years old! The thing is with forums like this, members are very sceptical of people who have just joined as they may be 'trolls'. People need time to get to know and trust your opinions. Also, members get sceptical of people that come on forums advertising their services or slagging off the competition. Its best to let your customers do the talking.

Thanks for backing down with good grace. Its always worth having proof before throwing accusations around.

This is getting tedious. You really don't have any attention to detail do you? I will explain to again:

Firstly, you said that Permagard said that my car had oxidisation after only a year. I asked you for proof and all you could say was:

The acrobat document where you told me to look for bigger pictures talks of a porky with 12k miles and some oxidisation.

Thats not my car! As you have said before, mine is silver - the one you are talking about is black. Lucky people only let you loose on their cars with a pot of wax and not a spray gun

You are either a troll, colourblind, stupid or all three.
