I clobbered a branch which was the size of a good tree on my way back last night, apart from smashing the windscreen and bending the bonnet it's dented the roof around the windscreen seal:

I've already sorted a bonnet replacement (pretty handy having a best friend who works for BMW if you drive one), but I'm after a bit of advice on what to do with the roof line before getting the screen replaced. I presume it won't seal terribly well how it is, and wondered if it could be reshaped without the need to have a new roof fitted. I'll give a few body shops a call on Monday, but would be interested in other people's opinions before I have to pull the trousers down.

I'm glad the screen held up well, getting covered in the small glass shards was a small price to pay for not having a branch in my face!

Insurance that carries a bit of a high excess, and trying to avoid adding a second fault claim as the first one will be one in a few months time.

I've sorted the lot for under the excess, a friend who runs his own body shop is doing the labour at a very good rate for me, and with pulling the roof out, adding a second hand bonnet, spraying the bonnet and sorting a scrape on the rear bumper plus the windscreen excess, wiper arms, grille etc puts the lot bang on the amount of the excess. Plus I get a friend to work on the car so I know it will be done properly not at an 'approved' body shop. Thanks for the reply anyway.
