I will be arriving in Perth on 29th April and will be 'accomodated' for the first 4 weeks by my employer. After that I'm on my own.

Looking for suggestions, tips or advice on getting somewhere to stay. There will be me and my better half, both 25. I will be working in the CBD and will not have a car so must be do-able via public transport.

Rentals seem very expensive (as expected) and are in high demand. Was considering East Perth, Subiaco or Leederville but I know beggars can't be choosers. Not 100% on budget but $600 - $700 seems like the number we'll be paying.

Thanks!

Just had my confirmation of accomodation through for my first 4 weeks in Perth. It's a serviced apartment on the corner of Wellington Street and Milligan Street. Seems convinient for the CBD, bus station and train station.

However, it seems very close to the dreaded Northbridge everyone seems to have warned me of.

Any advisories or reassurances!? Still though, one step closer to getting there!

Thanks for the quick reply Bibbs! Any other tips or things I should take advantage of during my short time at that location?

Thanks again,

Where are you working? (you may have said, but I can't remember, sorry).

Round there car parking would be expensive, so I'd hold off.

ShowMePerth.com.au has a list of some of the stuff happening. But I'm not too sure to be fair.

Drop me a line once you are here and we can meet for a beer (I'm only 7mins on the train from the station and in the city every day).

I'd suggest heading up to Kings park, and having a look about. Great views and gives you a feel of the place.

If you are interested, the V8s are on the 4/6th of May. The train will get you there (my tickets are already in the post).
Thanks for the information. I'm working on St. Georges Terrace. Once I get settled and get my bearings I'll drop you a line. And I'll be looking up the V8's! Cheers.
