Like an addict I'm looking at buying another 'toy'. This time I want something that will hold value plus is entertaining to drive.

My choices are:

M3 CSL - I've done many miles and trackdays in one, great car however the recent spate of chassis cracking issues is a concern. Solid investment though.

Porsche GT3 997 - Looking at the red series two that's up for $169K. Looks promising however I'm think an RS is a better investment.

Porsche GT3 RS 997 - I had a viper green one, stupidly sold it for 79k Sterling many moons ago to fund an Ultima GTR (big big mistake cos greens one worth double any other colour now!!), I see there are two for sale, silver and black, both around $229K. Hmmmm.. but really I want the series 2 but they're asking $300K which is too much!

Using man logic and load of finance I could probably stretch to the White Mclaren that's up for $350K, but then I'm not a real fan and I'll always be looking at the 458 (the one I can't afford right now).

Porsche GT3 991 - Can get this, just, as Porsche has some good credit options. Debt doesn't frighten me but depreciation does (I have a Range Rover that's shedding around $30K a year already).

As an outsider I see there's 0% finance TAP on Lotus, sadly these do depreciate like a rock however still worth considering.

Yeah yeah, tough choices I know but there you go...

What would you be swaying towards??

PS, I'll be selling whatever it is in six months due to loss of licence thumbup

That particular 993 is overpriced by about $50k, it will still be for sale in 6 months.

I had been watching the silver one that has recently had a price drop by $8K (I think), priced around the $150K mark.

While the 993 turbo is a lovely car, the fact they were going for $110K'ish 12 months ago just puts me off spending $150K the owners would like now.

The only Ferrari I like is the 458 and the 355, just never warmed to the 360's front end.

Getting a jag F type for 24 hours from the local dealer, was RRP$220K, will take $150K, fully loaded V6S, worth a thought...

Will update.

Right, new plan of attack. Can't mention too much but will get approval from PH'ers (but probably not my wife). One little hint, involves Autohaus Hamilton of Sydney and will take a few months...
Will post project up in separate forum in next few months.

In a complete reversal and desire for a soft top for summer I brought this:

But to compound my madness I also brought this at the same time:

That basically goes with this I brought a few months back:

Which has made this bloke rather happy I suspect:

I've also put all the warranty documents in a very safe place and my local dealers Service Manager's phone number in my mobile.

V noice - which one is going to tow which one home... biggrin

I'll keep an ear out for the Jag - heard one go past the other day, did sound as good as it looks. Won't be going on any drives to Wisemans any time soon, but will be out for a blat around the Pittwater area some evenings - its been great fun in the rain, empty roads and streaming water...
I live on the peninsular, you may have heard/seen me as I was blatting around Newport and Palmie Saturday and Sunday. Also think I got done in Mona Vale by one of those sneaking little camera utes frown

I stay well away from McCarrs Creek and National Park on the weekend.... too much Tour De France stuff going on. Although some of the ladies do look quite tasty in the bike shorts smile
