Probably better in here than the Jaguar forum...

Are these door cards (recessed handles) exclusively US market, or do they just differentiate a S1.5 from a S1?

My understanding is that they aren't exclusive to the US and are just related to year/ series

why?
Thank you.

I saw a car that the seller said was European, and somebody else said was a US import.

Not US-only. Not sure if all/any S1.5s had them as, IIRC, some of the S2 changes were introduced over the run of the S1.5.
This is definitely a S1 or 1.5, that's not in doubt. It was really about whether it was a genuine European car, or if it needs further investigation

To be confident just check the chassis number on the VIN. Second digit will be and R or an L. If converted, no matter how well done that's the thing they can't change.
Thank you. I know about chassis numbers, but the car is in another country, I don't speak the language, and whilst I have somebody there who can go and look at it, I don't want to waste his time if the car's not right, and If I can tell that visually, then it's easily settled.

Portugal. I have somebody making further enquiries, now that I know it might be what it claims.

Thank you smile It's a bit of an involved story, but it's not specifically for me. Not directly, at least...
