The Bristol Post website has published a few photos showing the city in 1991.
Here are the ones with cars in them.
The first one is the British Aerospace site at Filton.

By coincidence it was about 1991 when I had an XR3i, it felt like it was from Tomorrow’s World to me after minis, metro, cortinas, MGB etc.

The two Escorts at the front of the queue make the Beetle look positively acient. Brings back a memory from 1983 / 84 when I was living and working in London - during a quiet spell at work with my mate Dave 'Dianna' Dawes taking me for a spin in his Dad's then new XR3i, a quick blast down Old Oak Common Lane and a particularly hairy drive along the A40(M) into Paddington, long before any speed cameras appeared. The four hole alloys looked like something from 'Tomorrow's World' wink.
I reckon the Escort front right is an RS1600i - spots and fogs at the front, looks like Recaro headrests rather than A-frame on the front seats.
No, horizontal stripes on leading of bonnet, and the front air dam should be black on the RS, and a bit deeper, and shaped slightly differently.
It does seem to have black door mirrors (which I think the RS1600i had) whereas XR3i had body coloured door mirrors (at least mine did).
Edit: had a search on Google and the RS1600i had body coloured bumpers,as did the XR3i, so may not be either.
