This 8600 miles from new Series I XJ6 popped up on one of my Facebook grouos this morning and have to say, if I had the room I'd love it.

The Series I cars in my eyes just look achingly good looking.
Cooler than a cucumber.

So the grey one sold at Mathewsons in August this year for £14k, and the final ebay bid on the latest sale was just under £9.5k with the reseve not met.

Another 2.8 manual I stumbled across the other day while looking at a Volvo1800ES

I've decided to go to this event, any recommended stands to visit to see some Series 1 XJ's?
I feel like walking down the road to the bloke with the beige 2.8 Daimler and saying. "'Scuse us mate, you couldn't do us a favour and drive round to me house and see if your motor fits in my garage could ya."

Had a 3.6 XJ-S in grey straight after my XJ40 and loved it.
Felt like a real proper 'old school' Jag with a fantastic sound and smell inside. I could find myself just staring at when it was parked outside the house. Gorgeous thing. Sold it for a more sensible Golf Gti which just left me cold.
Years later bought a 4.0 XJ-S in a silvery blue colour from a dealer in the Midlands. Couldn't warm to it at all, horrid to drive and looked like a beached whale outside the cottage we were living in at the time.
All the 'caddish Jag' elements of my 3.6 were replaced by images of golf club membership and Pringle jumpers.
Got done for speeding leaving Southwold (34 in a 30) too which added to my dislike of the thing.
Glad when that one was sold.
Would love an early manual V12 in my fantasy garage though.

Don't start on Mk IIs Nij.
My oldest car memory is being dropped off back in Leyton, East London by my dad's mate in his steel blue 2.5 Daimler, after visiting them in the Midlands.
Must have been around '70/'71, but still remember seeing that shape parked there and how wonderful it was. Must have been 4 or 5 at the time.
Always been a want since learning to drive, but have never really come close to getting one.

Not sure if this S1 XJ12 has been posted, but seems good value for somebody with a big enough garage:
