Old Car Brochures

Very interesting this - I've got about 3000 brochures in my garage...all filed in manufacturer order (very sad, I know).
I started collecting when I was a young'un back in about 1990 and have pretty much one brochure for every car sold in the UK since then. The exceptions are a few exotics that I can't get hold of without paying big money and stuff from the last 3-4 years where I've not bothered collecting unless I'm really interested in the car.
The quality of hard-copy brochures these days is largely quite poor as they're very basic....I guess there's no need when you can get all the info and configure most stuff online. Prime example was the RCZ brochure I picked up today which I can at best describe as a tiny picture book but then the online configurator for this car is very good indeed!
Not really sure what to do with all my brochures now as I don't read them....maybe they'll be worth something in the future when paper brochures don't exist anymore??
Ecxellent! I'm not getting rid but i do have some nice 70's ones - an embossed Jensen Interceptor, Porsche 911, Droop Snoot Firenza, Citroen SM and some amazingly cheap "supercar" stuff like some lambo postcards and a black and white Ferrari leaflet. Also have some unusual stuff like the Gilbern Invader, the original Allegro launch brochures and so on and so forth. One day I'll dig them out to indulge myself in the sheer beauty of design unfettered by safety requirements.
...and you'll be amazed how un p.c. they are too...aimed almost exclusively at men8400rpm said:
I have some odd brochures here and there, but the only ones I've got that might be of any interest are some Acura ones I picked up whilst in America, can't remember what I've got though, you're welcome to any I can find that you might be interested in.
My most prized brochure possession, is the one for the Honda Civic Mugen RR which includes a DVD.
Strangely enough, the ones you think may not be interesting, might well be!My most prized brochure possession, is the one for the Honda Civic Mugen RR which includes a DVD.

See my post history, in classics forum I'm posting pics of classics brochures I have been given to sell on, thought I'd photo them all completely before they go. Most of the ones I've posted have now gone. Got several hundred more left.
D'ya wanna pm me a list?http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

I had lots of them, some modern some old. I sold quite a few on ebay and at toy fairs and the rest went to PHers.
I do have a TVR wedges sales pack that comes with quite a number of 80's TVR magazine cuttings that I dug out the other day though.
Sounds like a good item for eBay?I do have a TVR wedges sales pack that comes with quite a number of 80's TVR magazine cuttings that I dug out the other day though.

I'd just like to say that my brochure collecting continues...
.....but I'm now moving on car manuals (mostly Haynes 60s-80s). (Just mentioning it in a not-breaking-the-PH-posting-rules-kind-of-way )
Whereabouts in the PH classifieds would you say is the best place to advertise these manuals? I've stuck an ad in garage equipment, but methinks that's probably a seldom visited section? My parents have just discovered my childhood collection whilst clearing out their loft- it's mainly generic Ford and Volvo brochures from 1987-91 (I think I have a complete set from that period) but there's also a few interesting ones. I've got one for the Capri 280, the BMW Z1 launch brochure from the motorshow (two actually, one's got ink splodges on it from a fountain pen explosion), Mini 30 and a few older ones like an early Alfa 33 one and a few 70's BL ones. I've also got a pack Alfa sent me containing a video of Tiff Needell talking about the Alfa 164 and an original Audi A8 launch brochure in an aluminium case. Are they worth anything?
Once I've sorted them out (although knowing how OCD I was then they'll probably be in manufacturer, model AND date order) I'll let you know what's there.
