Can i trace a phone number?

I just got an abusive answer machine message from a landline in the Wigan area from someone who knows my name.

Five minutes later i got an accidental call from the guys mobile, which he hung up when he realised

Is there a way to find out who owns either number? I will probably phone it back tomorrow for sts and giggles anyway..

I don't have any real enemies so this is likely just just be a drunken prank by someone i no longer speak to..they must miss me!

I have a mobile number and a landline number.

My guess is the landline will be a public phone, I bet he is pissed off about accidentally dialling my number from his mobile after looking it up though!

It was two guys trying to sound scary, and not doing very well!

The first one (southern shandy drinker)kept calling me a cock in various different ways and then the other one (Northern Monkey) took over and tried to be a bit more scary..

Yes it is. I have tried calling both numbers today and had no answer yet. I will keep trying thoug as i need to know whether i should be getting the cops involved..atleast that is what i will tell the person who finally answers...

How do you know it's the same person? As suggested check you do/don't have number stored in your phones, dial it with the 141 in front, should still recognise their name if stored I think?

Abusive call at midnight from a northern geezer, five minutes later a call from a mobile with a northern geezer's voice in the background, 2+2=4

BTW, why is everyone telling me to hide my number? They already have my number...

because if you keep calling then and they see it's you it will only encourage them to do it more.

My number is being changed in 3 days just to be sure.
