Just taken a couple of frozen cod fillets out of the freezer and there is a distinctly fishy aroma coming from them. I'd have thought if they were frozen, they'd be fresh (we bought them a week ago) and odourless.

Reckon they're off? Should I bin 'em?

TBH I wouldn't have a problem with 'em after they be cooked, but 'er indoors is most picky about such matters. If she comes home later to find me fingers smelling like off-fish, there'll be trouble I tells ya.

Aye, twas what I was thinking. Used to work on the fish counter at Waitrose, in my yoof. Rarely smelt of fish as it was always fresh, if there was such a stench then you knew something wasn't quite right.

Having never really worked with the frozen variety of cod, I wasn't sure. PH to the rescue, yet again.

I'm gonna cook it anyway and see if she notices. If you don't see any posts from me for a while, I've got food poisoning, ok?
