I have just seen the lovely blue S2 Exige at Paul Matty Cars and I am hoping to go and see the car this week. I was looking for an S, but this car looks so good, and I love the colour, does anyone know the car? What do people think of Paul Matty in general, good place to buy? Also what do people think i of the price, it seems quite near higher mileage S pricing,

thanks

Thanks for the replies

So what’s good pricing for 2006 S2 Exige / 37k miles ?

What’s a premium ??? Maybe 2-3k to get an immaculate one from a dealer?

I am assuming I’ll get piece of mind with regards to any damage / misalignment of geometry / undertray or tub damage if I buy from a dealer - no need for my own inspection ?

Thanks for that. I see that some SC cars are around this price or slightly more, but with double the miles, and not the colour I like! I see it’s top money for an NA car but yes would like the piece of mind it’s straight and a well looked after example.

So it’s had a suspension refresh - what other known issues / bits should it have had done in order for it to be worth the 26k asking price ?

Interestingly this car was on Autotrader some time ago and I enquired about it, price is similar so I suspect they are either selling on a SOR basis for owner or have bought it for less and are selling on.

Have a look on youtube, there are some good videos regarding what to look for. The older cars have a lot of areas which can corrode so you need to inspect all of these points and make sure you're happy. Also check for leaks as the seals go on them, both boot area and doors. I looked at some right dogs before buying mine that were full of water and generally shat.

The rest is common sense. Check tyres / brakes / general condition. It'll be easy to see if it's been well cared for. Also check front clam to see if it's been painted, and if so, well or badly (you'll see the orange peel effect if not done to a good standard). Good luck.
any reason you didn't buy this car / or look at it?
