Complete Numptee Question - what engine oil?

Apologies to all of you out there that this seems like the most basic question on the forum for weeks 
but I have last week begun my love affair with a real flesh and blood TVR rather than photos. I have a 2002 Tamora with an engine rebuild - 3.6 done in 2008/9 what is the best engine oil that I should use? The oroginal manual say Mobil 1 10W/40 is that the same as Mobil Super 2000 X1 10W/40 or should I use a higher rating? Are there better oils out there?
