I've gone and got myself and early Christmas present - a Sony XAV AX100 Android Auto Stereo.

I'm pretty sure it has a cable for plugging the phone into, and a cable for a microphone for voice control/hands free calls. Where and how is it best to route these? I want the microphone invisable as possible, and the cable for phone attachement in a sensible place, preferably the centre console.

The car is a mk5 golf - if anyone has any specific experience that would be fantastic!

Microphone is best routed up the A pillar under the trim and then along the top of the doorframe poking out in front of the grab handle.

Dunno about phone connector - doesn't it just use bluetooth? brodit make custom mounts for most car models. https://www.brodit.co.uk/

How do get the cable from the stereo to the A pillar? Once there, how do you get underneath the lining and re seal it? This is all new to me!

It does have bluetooth. but I think for Androud Auto it needs to be attached via a USB (there is a rear USB cable with a female socket that comes out the back of the stereo, and an extension of this supplied with it too.
