Hi,

My partner has a 2012 Peugeot rcz and a few months ago the battery died, we replaced the battery and it died again. We same to find that the radio in the car was killing the battery and it has also been causing engine management lights to come on.

We’ve sent the radio away to a specialist who has told us that the radio is unrepairable and we’ve tried desperately to source another radio to replace it and they seem to be incredibly rare.

I’ll attach a couple images of the radio here. I guess my question here is, does anyone have any experience working with these units that might have some idea what’s caused the issue or would anyone be able to give us some advice on finding a reasonable replacement (besides importing one from France for €900). In my research it seems like the 308 uses the same radio but I’m struggling to find the correct one.

Apologies I can’t be more specific on the cause of the draining issue, her dad dropped the radio down and doesn’t remember the details of the issue.

Thanks for your response I’ll have a look into this in more detail. The auto electrician seemed to suggest that it couldn’t be replaced it had to be a one to one but the videos you’ve linked suggest otherwise.

I suspect the difference between the versions in your video and her car is that hers has a gps unit, I think that might be the cause of not being able to replace hers.
