Stuck behind driver doing an indicated 20 in a 30 zone. Very frustrating but then I realised that I was on a long straight bit of road, dashed lines, good visibility and no junctions. So why didn't I just overtake?

Indicated and pulled out to go round the other car, only for them to accelerate as I was in the other lane. Managed to get ahead of the fool, though I of course never went above 30 officer and they flashed me as I pull in ahead of them.

What makes this even more ridiculous is I left this car miles behind and I never went above an indicated 30 on the speedo, which is about 25mph on my car. So I was hardly speeding.

I just don't get the attitude. If people want to drive slow, fair enough but why do they get angry when people overtake them?

Obviously they were more comfortable with everybody being behind them... That way, they can just enjoy THEIR journey without all the hassle of concentrating on any other vehicles.

Perhaps they flashed you...as a polite ‘you’re clear to pull back in now’ message.
I hope you acknowledged... winds me up if they don’t.

No it was the angry flash because I dared to overtake them. Now if it is illegal to overtake in a 30 zone and I made a mistake, fair enough. I am pretty sure that isn't the case.

As for the digs about basic driving, move this thread if it bothers you that much. I am not fussed.

Though I am interested what you're suppose to do if someone accelerates to block the overtake. Should you speed up to complete the overtake or pull back and abort?
