Hi all, anyone have any experience of these guys?

https://catdrivertraining.co.uk/

There's a bewildering array of courses available and seem to kick off around the £1k mark. Interested to know if they're worth the money and what alternatives there are. I've seen RED do something and there are a number of independent schools too.

I'm looking to upgrade to a 330i or S60 T5 so not super performance stuff but would still like to invest in some advanced driver training. Certainly something over and above the usual race circuit 'experience' type days but I'm not averse to looking at ARDS courses using school cars etc too. Getting into club motorsport is something I'd like to do in the future so I think all of the above would be a worthwhile investment, keen to know where's best to kick off though.

Thanks

Thanks for the feedback so far folks. Interesting that someone mentioned a discount for the CAT training through the Porsche club, would be good to know if there are other clubs that offer similar. I'm also happy to look into getting a group together if it makes it more cost effective/affordable.

Can't find any info on cost for the HPC course so will make some enquiries. AW training looks good value too for an intro to limit handling, would be interested to know if it's a better bet than what's on offer at various national circuits.

Thanks for the recommendations, sounds like CAT. HPC & AW all offer pretty much exactly what I'm looking for. I've been in touch with HPC but it appears one of the requirements is to have a car with manual transmission. Seems a bit unusual given that a lot of even semi-performance stuff nowadays is automatic.

HI All, just picking this up again now I'm looking to get something booked.

The HPC course contact has pointed me in the direction of the below for skid control training at North Weald airfield;

https://www.drivelimits.com

Is this a similar service to that provided by the following operating from the same airfield?

https://www.awdrivertraining.co.uk

Thanks

Thanks LunarOne, looks like a lot of fun. I've been in touch with HPC but apparently the course is for manual cars only (mine is 8 speed auto). It's a shame as I feel I'd still get something from the course regardless of transmission type.. anyone have any other recommendations for on road stuff?
