This car park in Lincoln is a ring around five central spaces with a few more spaces on the outside. Nearly all cars will approach on the road and direction marked in red (and also leave via this route), so assume you are turning left into the car park. There are no signs or markings stating a direction. Because it is quite narrow and a fairly tight loop, there isn't always space for two cars to pass. Once you are in should you drive around clockwise or anti-clockwise or is either correct?

I'd always assume a clockwise direction around a car park, as most folk appear to based on my observations. That said, at my local railway station there's a similarly tight car park where, ocassionally, someone goes anti-clockwise and causes mayhem!
Good to see I'm not going mad. Almost everyone goes around this one anti-clockwise for some reason and this morning I saw some get rather irate with someone for going around clockwise.

My bl@#£&y minded spirit comes out and if I could see a space, I would go straight for it. This might upset someone inching their way round but parking in Lincoln never easy.
That's why I usually try to get there before 9am.
