2.5t xc70 PETROL - odd choice over diesel?

I'm in the market for an XC70 up to about £6k & spotted this: https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/auctions/2006-volv...

I'm not well informed about this engine & with thousands of diesels around wonder if it might be either a good if unusual choice or just a bit of an abberation? Is anyone running something similar & could offer an opinion? Many thanks, Julian

Thanks a lot for the info. There are some Japanese imports around which have cheaper tax, so aim to have a look when things are a bit more normal.

Someone paid £6000 for it at the end of the auction. I've decided to put my sensible head on & get a diesel but avoid the 4c suspension if possible.
Those wheels were horrible!
