I understand that since Volvo introduced the new Google infotainment system, it has had quite a lot of issues, some of which have been serious enough to immobilise the cars and which dealers have been unable to fix.

Were these just teething issues? Have they mostly been resolved now?

Interested in views from owners.

Asking as I’m considering a new XC90 to replace our (extremely unreliable) Range Rover P400E.

Really don’t want to jump from the frying pan into the fire!

Alternative thought is the smaller and more expensive Cayenne.

Thank you, it doesn’t sound all that promising… :-(

Thank you, I was hoping they were teething issues and now getting sorted…and as a previous poster said, hopefully even more sorted by the time a new one might be delivered, given current lead times.

Holy thread resurrection…

So we ordered the car (B5D Plus) and were due to collect it last Sunday. When we started it at the dealer, it immediately threw up a ‘Stop safely - 12v battery critical charging fault’ and was in limp home mode. We obviously were unable to drive it away.

As it turned out the car was not as we had specified it either and we have subsequently rejected it.

That’s a whole different story and the dealer (who have been pretty helpful) and Volvo are trying to sort out a replacement - but I am seriously concerned now about the whole thing and am in two minds whether to walk away or to wait for a correctly specified one. Genuinely uncertain whether to proceed.

Has anyone else had this issue? Is it a one-off or a regular / known fault?

Many thanks for the reply, hopefully not a recurring fault then. Dealer is trying to sort out a replacement car now but this is due to the spec, not the fault.
