Volvo V70 advice

Hi guys, am looking to buy an estate car to lug my drum kit around in!
After looking at a few examples I figured the Volvo V70 would be the one
for me. However is the 2.4D an expensive car to run ? Are there any nasty insurance/
tax surprises to be aware of?
