Second mortgage time guys.

I’ve got until next year to save up and make a space.

I’ll bet the good people at HK models are feeling a bit sick after this was announced.

I wonder if anyone who buys this kit will actually build it?

The HK one is £350. This will be more, but I can’t see it being close to £1000. I think £500 will be closer. Equally unobtainable for me at the moment. I’m going to start saving..

I found a video of the hobby show on you tube earlier and they talked a little about this kit. The time delay in launching it is because they are working hard to get the stressed skin right.
Sounds like it could be something special indeed.
I wonder how long it will be until they do a spitfire of hurricane.

From what people have told me the border models kit is basically a pre production wing nuts one. So there are lots of areas to be careful of in assembly.

I built a border 1/35 Stuka. The surface detail was second to none. The instructions were the absolute worst I have seen on a modern kit. So many errors, the painting call outs were non existent to the point I had to buy the Haynes manual (no help at all) and then guess. Some parts (the bomb assembly) just weren’t in the instructions at all.

I’ll not be buying another border kit anytime soon.

The Lancaster is wing nut though, so hopefully will be better.

I started just polishing canopies.

Seems to work better than I ever managed to get with klear.

Still have half a bottle of the stuff somewhere though.
