Spit, Hurricane, 109 and Beaufighter done, time to inflict GBH on another starter kit.

Ever since I had a Dinky Spitfire as a kid (and latterly as an adult too) I like a spinning propeller.

And I have a broken little cheap RC helicopter that has miniature electric motors! Could one of them fit?

Drilled out the prop-holding dowel and the motor fits perfectly. The question is, where to put the battery and how to make the battery accesible. And what about a switch? The Dinky Spit had a flick motor, but this one needs a switch.

Make a stand, run the wires down it and make the base of the stand a battery box/switch?
Funny you should say that - that is exactly my plan!

Something I'd like to have a go at too. How about a sound chip too?
That would be good, is there a sound chip of a Napier Sabre at full chat?

Test of prop / motor - successful!

The two little holes in the fuselage are tiny tubes, held in place by epoxy, to the top of which are soldered the motor wires.

Someone should have told them to close the cannon access panels before takeoff mind you.
