Hi guys,

I've been the owner of one of these brilliant cars for a while now, just seeing if there are any other people on here who own one?

Now - Replacement panels
I'm in need of a new boot and door, the door has been driven into and has been that way since I have bought the car, and the boot lid has lost all lacquer and the paint has been damaged. Maybe worth a respray?

The colour isn't Sorrento green, rather Oberion I think. Very slightly different, and the perfect situation would to find someone breaking an STDT. If you're reading this and fancy shifting some body panels from your yard then leave a post!

Day I brought it down from up t'north, all cleaned up and looking fairly presentable!

Any other 205 STDT owners on here??

The suspension setup really isn't the same as the GTI's, as you can probably see the STDT rides a lot higher and although the suspension is fairly firm, it's wallowy in the corners if you know what I mean. Still sticks to the road fairly well and is so much fun to throw about

The brakes may well be the same as the GTI, fairly big discs on the front and drums on the back

A lot of people do put the 309 GTI rear beams on and drop the front and apparently that makes these cars run on rails. And I wouldn't dispute that!

I've got 3 out of 4 centre caps (bummer!) and the alloys are in real need of a refurb, paint's peeling a bit all round.

I've read somewhere that they are definitely Sorrento Green, can anyone confirm this at some point?

Different places tell me different things. I think the best way of sorting it would be to park a proper sorrento gti next to it!

It's surprising how often these STDT's are cropping up on ebay when apparently there's only 189 currently taxed and being driven. There's not been any in spectacular condition but all will get you from A to B (hate that phrase)

Oberon Green, confirmed by the paint code, MOSB

Very nearly lost it a couple of months back, water pump went and it was minutes away from going to the scrappy! All fixed up, once the starter motor is replaced I'm certain it's got a few more years service at the very least!

Recently painted the fog lights yellow, the only exterior changes I'm going to make. I think they look good, green body panels and all. Just ignore the number plate which is slightly on the wonk...blame the fox that I hit

I haven't done anything to the turbo or fuel, I'm not even sure I will in the future. Mostly because I don't really know how (how similar is the process to the 306 1.9 d turbo?) but also because I don't have a particularly strong gut feeling about how long the engine will last. It's a deep down feeling that something's gonna go wrong when I'm least expecting it!
