Hi, I am currently restoring my Peugeot 505 V6 GTI executive and was wondering if any PH,er has or knows of any other 505 V6's out there. It would also be good to here from any other 505 owners and there struggle to find parts and maybe get together to sell/swap parts we may have extra that someone else is desperately seeking.

Cheers Robert

Thanks guys, I have already had a few bits from Dean Hunter and just got myself a GTD Turbo (minus the engine) for a parts car. I have been a Peugeot tech since 1984 so you have a few years on me LOL. I have just about got all I need now and have started on the bodywork but it is going to be a long project. I actually PDI,ed this very car back in 1986 and have known it all its life. Here are a couple of pics when I picked it up.

Yes the good old days, The very first job I was allowed to do on my own was to PDI a Talbot Horizon GLS and it was also my first Oh crap moment as I drilled through the rear washer bottle when fitting the rear plate. We also had a petrol 504 pick up as the parts delivery and workshop truck and had a doggy distributer and used to backfire all the time and was nicknamed "The Fire Dragon".
The bodywork will be a long job but its not too rusty just a little on the O/S/F leg and bottom of the windscreen pillars so currently taking the engine out to get access to the leg to repair it properly.
Due to it having ABS it does not have a LSD like the GTI's so I am swapping the LSD out of the GTD Turbo into the V6 along with the standard braking system as the ABS in the V6 is the integral type like the early MI 16's and is utter rubbish and very unsafe.

If you mean that weird ABS in the first Mi16`s? a strange master cylinder, pump,an odd setup, sometimes you would have NO BRAKES!!,that was a disaster system.I used to rip the lot out,fit a 405SRi pedal box, servo and master cylinder.Make up new metal pipes and it then had normal brakes.Perhaps you could do a similar conversion with the stuff from the 505 turbo?
Yes that very odd (and dangerous) system, I had a MI 16x4 a couple of years back and the brakes failed when my wife was driving but luckly she is pretty switched on and managed to get it stopped before hitting anything. I have already started that very job of switching the V6 over to the normal master cylinder/servo set up from the GTDT and I am also ditching the rear calipers for the drum set up from the GTDT as you will well know the handbrake on those early rear caliper set ups were worse than useless.
I will also be fitting the LSD rear diff unit from the GTDT as the V6 did not come with one due to it having the ABS, unsure how the gearing from the LSD unit will effect the driving if any but with a V6 should have enough torque to deal with any higher rear diff gearing.
Parts for the PRV engine don't seam to bad to find as a few models used that engine it's more the odd bits like trim etc that are the hard bits to locate.
