willaims outside temp gauge

The digi outdoor temp gauge on me williams clio has decided to go very very faint ( can only just see it now and again ), any ideas if this is an easy fix or not? Ta Jez

it was very sudden, it came back on for a bit but now has been faint for about a month or so
