Mrs Saleen has a 106 gti for the track, after me driving it on track today it is in need a gearbox! I have not broken it, the gearing on the standard box isuseless for the track, ideally I would swap it for a 1.3 rallye or 1.4 (1360cc) xsi gearbox but alas finding either is needle in haystack time or a deep pocket, would I be right in thinking the 1.4 (1360cc) Saxo sx/furio gearbox would be a straight swap?
I looked on Parkers at Saxo 1.4's and all are 75bhp but some have a quicker 0-60 time so picked these out.

Pretty sure the 1.4 box from the saxo is the same as the quiksilver which in turn has the same ratios as the gti/vts but with a marginally shorter final drive ratio. The BE4 conversion is good but expensive, there's also a conversion using the rover 620ti interals in a MA casing, it works out cheaper than the BE4 jobby and you also benefit with the addition of the l.s.d from the Rover. There may be a few rallye boxes for sale on the 106 rallye register though. I'm on my 4th MA box now and will probably opt for the Rover internal route next time it goes. HTH.
Have not heard of that conversion, is it an easy job? (i.e a straight forward swap)

We have produced a BE conversion to convert 106 or Saxo from MA to BE box.

Thanks, but I think the 1.4 xsi g/box I picked up for £30 will do thanks!
