Sorry to hear about your foot John, looking forward to seeing your 200 on the 2nd.

Im now regretting not having the Speedlines on mine - so in the new year Im going to get my standard wheels painted gloss black. Trying to find a picture of some but to no avail, if anyone spots a photo would be grateful if you could email it to me.

Going to post Pics of mine this weekend...

Went out for a blast this afternoon and took a few photos along the way.

Mine is a 200Cup.
Glacier White
Recaros.

Have a few mods planned. K-Tec Racing exhaust, panel filter, alloys painted gloss black, gloss black wrap to roof and mirrors, 3m carbon film to interior bits, sprint spoiler.

Nice cars, there is some great deals on these at the moment, was tempted myself. Lookers have been doing them for £1k deposit and £199 a month for 24months, then either give it back or pay the remainding £8.5k. Load of owners on the cliosport forum have been snapping them up.
Thats exactly the deal I have, although the 6,000mpa has been broken slightly. (I've had it 6 months and already done 7,000 miles!

Aspen: If you dont mind telling, how much was your GT spoiler to be painted and fitted?

Also to any owners that fancy it; there are a few of us going to the New Year meet this Sunday in Gillingham. There are 4 of us so far, the more the merrier.

ROCHESTER TVR - Saw the cars at the PH doo, but didnt see you guys. Next time!! BF
Hi, yeah sorry I was looking out for you but must have been at other ends of the area each time. Saw your 200 looked great.

Warning to all 200 owners: I (well the wife) has just broke my 200 for the 2nd time! I tend to leave my car in gear when parked on the road by my house (slight hill), wifey then goes in and tries to start it without noticing its in gear... car lurches forward and in the process blows the main live fuse coming off the battery. Very annoying!

Now the car is dead, no electrics and it wont start...(will still lock though). So tomorrow I'll get it going to get to work and then have to get on the phone to find a new fuse and replace it myself as I know I can do it quicker myself than it takes to book it into my local MD and wait for them to fix it.

So if you have a 200 and leave it in gear when parked, make sure its never accidentally started. Otherwise you'll be unable to start it and possibly be stranded wherever you are.

Hmm sorry to hijack a bit. I have a 197 and im thinking of trading it in for a 200, would i really notice any difference?

Mines a 197CUP with just white paint and seats. no leccy windows ac etc. Love it though smile
Continuing this theme - what's the general feel for what these cars are like to live with day to day? Does the interior rattle like a typical French-built car? Is day-to-day ride quality decent or too harsh? Stereo good enough? Is it really noisy on a motorway run? (e.g., excessive road roar) Does it feel built down to a price or a quality bit of kit?
Had mine new since May '10 and approaching 9,000 miles.
No rattles or squeaks or loose trim, quiet at the legal limit and hardly any tyre noise. Its a bit plasticky but reasonable quality. I have the full-fat version with the cup chassis so it's nicer inside than the bog cup version, better trim, steering wheel etc etc and virtually identical performance. Get a standard cup only if you do lots of track days otherwise you lose out on a lot of kit.
They are not that easy to drive at slow speeds, the clutch is a bit awkward and the gearbox needs getting used to. Pulling away needs practice especially when you are in a hurry. The cat thrives on revs and is bonkers at high speed driving, it just grips and grips and if you keep the revs up it really motors. I can confirm these cars are quicker than a Honda NSX but im guessing the guy had an automatic sperm
MPG is st for such a small car. I get 28-30 and have gon as low as 23. A friend has a 2008 Honda Type-R and she gets 26 so its not that bad.
If the car wasn't so amazing on twisty roads I would score it overall 6/10 but because its such a hoot and has such a fantastic chassis, its a 9.5/10 for me.
Can second all of that. I have the Cup version (mainly because Im much younger than Rs200 and dont need all the creature comforts wink) I use mine as my daily driver to work, mix of motorway, A and B roads and overall it is fine. I've done 7,600miles now but have averaged only 26mpg!!

If you are planning on regulary driving more than 2 hours at a time I would advise against the Recaros, I was commuting to Richmond not so long ago and by the time I was getting home my ars had gone numb and my legs felt like lead weights, they are fantastic for B road blasts though.

Mine has developed a rattle in the dash by my right knee, but as said above the Cup has a cheaper dash and door cards so this may be part of the problem. Either way they are fantastic cars and am chuffed to bits I decided to get one.

Are you going to the Sunday Service on the 30th? If so, maybe meet us at Guildford Cathedral for the drive up to see the 200's having a play.

Sadly no, I will be in the New Forest. have you had your wheels done yet ?
Ok, enjoy the New Forest though mate... Taken the Clio down there a few times as the parents have a place in Woodgreen. Some nice roads, 40mph limit though!

If you get the chance check out Zig Zag Hill and aurrounding roads to the east of Ringwood, and also there is a nice road that links Woodgreen up to Salisbury.

Not had the wheels done yet, might have them done for the 30th but have decided to get the Alfa's alloys done next week instead.

So who is coming to the Sunday Service then???

I see a few of you are from the South / South East so hopefully you'll fancy joning the cross-country convoy going from Guildford.
Trying to get as many 200's together as possible as we are always outnumbered at these events.

Over the last few days my 200 has 'beeped' 4 or 5 times when locking it.

It doesn't do it everytime, and I didn't even know they could 'beep'. I checked to make sure that the doors / windows were all closed which they were...

Any ideas?

What gears are notchy?

When it was below freezing a few weeks ago mine took some effort to get into first and second when cold. Loosened up once the gearbox had some tempreture in it though... now the weather has warmed up slightly everything seems fine. Mine has done nearly 8000mls now.

I would keep an eye on it over the next week (or until it gets a bit warmer) if its still a problem then just book it into your main dealer explaining the problem, just say you need it done under warrenty.

Hi tonylal, nice couple of cars you have there. I see you are in Surrey, do you fancy joining the convoy to Oxford leaving from Guildford Cathedral? It is made up largely of RenaultSports (12 so far of which 1 is a V6 and 6 are Clio200's).

Rather than stick to the boring motorways we will be taking the country route along some nice A and B roads.

Add you name to the list in the thread if you want to join us (link below).

Hope to see you there.
