Hello,

I have just bought my dream car, a 2004 Bentley Continental Gt. 114k but not much hostory from prior 2014, but its had a major service a few months ago.

So I bought it with my heart rather than my head.

I did the buy car on a limited budget though and it does need some work doing on it.

Unfortunately, I cannot afford Bentley Servicing etc, but will look after it as best as I can, I only intend to do 3000 miles and will do 3000 miles.

While I save up, I can start with cleabnng the car inside and out, which am good at doing.

Just wanted do say hello and apologise in advance if I ask a few questions.

Kind regards

Niaz

Hello and welcome!

Where are you based? I'm sure people here will have some independents they can recommend. I use Prestige Services in Leeds for example, if you're near there give them a call.
Thank you, am near Manchester so there is an Indy in Staybridge so not far from me

Hello,

I bought my CGT with my heart and not my brain.

I also bought it fairly cheap, as it needs some work doing to it, however, that is the way I want to do it.

I think it also depends on your mileage, mine is 4000 miles a year, so petrol wise am OK with the 8 mpg.

Also, you need to know a good mechanic as most garages will not help you when you mention you have a Bentley.

So good luck, buy it at a good price making sure you have a min of £2k a side annually for repairs

Most of the work has been done, rear brakes, rear caliper, rear screen demister (relay)

Need one TPMS sensor, tyre garage will fit this, missing when 4 tyres replaced by last owner.

Vibration coming from steering wheel from around 50mph plus, balancing done on front tyres, made a difference, lbuy its still there not as bad, ooks.lmaybe somethibg to do track rod end, bearib or suspension Bush, not been garage yet.

Car is otherwise great

Thank you, wow that is impressive.

They are renarkable cars and they keep going and going.

The front nearside alloy needs to be refurbished, it is the only one and was not good when I bought the car, the alloy sprcialist guy said he can do it , but wsnts the wheel off and 2 days as it diamond cut. I don't have a spare wheel just compressor and tyre foqm thing.

Just thinking should I buy one of those orange spacesavers they cost about £250, but I will still won't have a jack, so rely on RAC.

I presume geo is pointless unless I get the alloy done first?

The inner front upper control arm bushes wear out of sight .
The lower front is obvious it clunks .
When doing a proper geo on Hunter disks if they turn from lock to lock then it becomes apparent they can’t quite align it up because of the excess play of the upper inners .

So start figuring to replace them .Oh they can pass MOTs ok btw . You have to drop the strut to get to them .

Transforms the handling and steering feel when done .
Hello,

Replaced new tyre and alloys refurb and made by a big difference to vibration

However issue I have is with harsh suspension and harsh ride and clunckind noise.

Wbere do get these control arm bushes please
