Shopping around for a mini whilst I'm selling my car - thought long and hard and thought I wanted a coupe jcw. Having spent some time in one - I don't.

What I do want is a JCW car, up to £16k but with the exhaust or similar from a £20k challenge 210.
Do the Jcw hatches in my budget have that option?

that Remus system looks nice, and its not as expensive as i expected it to be. thanks for that.
i'm firm on the hatch shape but the challenge cars do look a bit "cooler" than the others in the range. i don't want to up my spend if i can help it - the GP2 cars are still slightly our of reach so i'm hoping i can find a happy medium with a JCW car and a few subtle tweeks.

I will need to look at the jb4 Ecu - I'm coming from an e46 m3 so I need a smaller drop in power (280 would be very nice).

Lovely looking car. I do like the GP style wheels.

It has to be a proper works car. They've got all the bits I want.

Recaros, the suede finished dash, the JCW badges smile, the brakes and the basic tuning. i can go through the stages easier from there i think - unless i'm wrong.

i've based all my research so far on the JCW only rather than the cooper S. so i need to do some more reading.

Lohen are too far away from me to use as my tuner but 1320 mini aren't too far away but i've read very mixed reviews of them. manic mini seem to be the tune that most people like but im open to suggestions.

you know the challenge sits between the s and jcw in the range?
I do. I like the look and the exhaust but know it's not at the top of the range in terms of power.

Still not sure what gen we are talking about either f56 challenge 210 r58 coupe or r56 3 door
Yeah, it's all got a bit confused. Not helped by the fact I'm still not fully understanding the generation codes.

Basically,

I wanted a jcw coupe - had one for a couple of days, didn't like it. Don't want one anymore.

Then I found the challenge 210 - £20k is more than I want to spend but I like the exhaust and styling.

So I think that leaves me looking for a jcw hatch at around £16k. Not sure if that the f56 or not.

Thank you.

Now I know what I actually want.

Just need to factor a jb4 ecu in a couple of months down the line.

So, other than minitorque (which wasn't that informative) what other places should I be doing my research?

I had got that impression.

Thanks again. I'm sure I'll be asking more questions if you don't mind.

What's your issue with the f56 cars?

I love the GP's but they don't have the nicer multimedia interface. It's a shame as I don't need 4 seats.
